Eagles clipped in consolation finals at local tournament

The Geneva School of Boerne boys basketball team played in the Hill Country Classic where they posted a 3-2 mark.

The Eagles played in the consolation championship and dropped that game to finish as consolation runner ups.

Geneva resumed play this Friday at Holy Cross. At the tourney, Geneva started off with a big win over Holy Trinity, 78-28, and followed that up with another victory, this time over Rosehill, 61-26.

The Eagles played FEAST Friday in the quarterfinals and lost to the Patriots, 58-50. That put Geneva up against Pantego where the Eagles won, 45-40, to advance to the consolation finals.

In the consolation championship, Geneva dropped a close one to Marble Falls Faith Academy by a bucket, 56-54.

No Eagles were named to the All-Tournament team, according to coach Julius McNeal.
