The Boerne Champion boys soccer team enters the final week of the regular season this week still in the hunt for a playoff spot.
Champion took care of Seguin last Friday, 3-0, and also picked up some help from the NB Canyon team that defeated Kerrville Tivy.
The Chargers close out the regular season this week with two matches and need to win both to have a shot, according to coach Clifton Tierney. They visit Kerrville Tivy Tuesday and host Buda Johnson Friday.
Champion is 6-8-4 overall and 5-7-2 in district, while Tivy and Lehman are both 6-5-3. The Antlers host Champion Tuesday and are at Dripping Springs on Friday, while Lehman hosts Alamo Heights Tuesday and visits Veterans Memorial on Friday.
In last Friday’s match, Crew Pulliam and Calvin Perryman both recorded goals, while the Matadors helped out the Chargers with an own goal for the final goal of the night.
