Boerne High held Incarnate Word to single digits in all four quarters during last Monday’s non-district game at Greyhound Gym.
The result was a lopsided victory for Boerne, 70-26. BHS improved its record to 15-3 overall.
They’ll play again at the Boerne ISD Holiday Tournament scheduled for Dec. 27-28.
Boerne took control early in Monday’s game and held a 31-6 lead by the end of the first quarter. The BHS girls were hot from the outside and drained six 3-pointers in the period.
The Lady Shamrocks had their best quarter of the contest in the second with 9 points, but Boerne still outscored them 10-9 and took a 41-15 lead into intermission.
Once the second half started, the Lady Hounds were feeling it from the outside again and knocked down four 3s on its way to 25 points.
BHS won the quarter 25-8 to open up a 66-23 advantage going into the fourth quarter.
In the final stanza, Boerne took its foot off the gas pedal and only scored 4 points but they still outscored the S.A. school, 4-3.
The Lady Hounds finished with 10 made 3s in the game. Jenna Ruede tallied 10 points and hit a 3, Savannah Salinas hit a 3 and scored 5, Meredith McCloud netted 15 points and sunk three 3s, Addison Palluch had a 3 and finished with 9 points, Abby Smith led the team with 18 points and dropped in three 3s, Averi Aaron recorded 10 points and Mickena Randle hit a 3 and ended up with 3 points.
