FAIR OAKS RANCH -- The city of Fair Oaks Ranch has been honored with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
Information released by Fair Oaks Ranch administration states the award reflects the “city’s commitment to transparency and quality in financial reporting.”
The award is for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2022, the most recent data available for review.
A GFOA panel assessed the city’s annual comprehensive financial report, affirming that it met the standards set out in the program. This includes a commitment to the “spirit of full disclosure” in clearly and effectively communicating the city’s financial story, thus encouraging engagement and understanding among its residents and stakeholders.
The city’s December 8 press release said the certificate of achievement is the most distinguished accolade in governmental accounting and financial reporting. “Achieving this honor is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the city’s finance department and its leadership team,” according to Fair Oaks Ranch officials.
This year marks another consecutive year of Fair Oaks Ranch receiving this award. Furthermore, the city’s consistent recognition in this arena includes being named a Triple Crown Winner last year, an exclusive accolade awarded to only a select group of finance departments across the United States and Canada for securing three major GFOA awards.
The release said the city “extends its heartfelt thanks to the city’s finance department staff for their relentless pursuit of excellence and to our community members for their ongoing trust and support.”
The achievement not only reflects on the team’s dedication but also on the community’s engagement and commitment to financial excellence.
