Boerne High scored at least 20 points in three of the four quarters played Tuesday night when the Greyhound basketball team hosted Uvalde.
In the other quarter where they didn’t hit for 20, the Hounds had 18 as they went on to defeat the visiting Coyotes, 88-34.
BHS is 14-2 overall and was off Friday. The Greyhounds play Monday at Southside and host Poth Tuesday. After that, they are off until the Boerne ISD Holiday Tournament.
In Tuesday’s game, Boerne tallied 23 in the first, 22 in the third and finished the fourth with its best scoring quarter of the night when they hit for 25.
The Hounds added 18 in the second and took 41-14 lead into halftime. They outscored the overmatched Coyotes in the second half, 47-20.
BHS knocked down nine 3-pointers and four different Greyhounds were in double figures after Casen Hoegemeyer led the team with 20 points, Slade Salinas added 16, Nic Hernandez finished with 13 and Sam Holland tallied 10.
Luke Fox and Hank Hendrix both scored 9, Noa Sanchez netted 5, while Will Traylor and Cash McPeak chipped in with 3 points apiece.
Salinas hit three 3s, Hoegemeyer and Holland drained two 3s each, while Fox and Hendrix also recorded 3s in the game.
McPeak grabbed 5 rebounds, Hendrix and Holland snagged 4 boards each, Hendrix and Sanchez both dished out 4 assists, while Hoegemeyer and Hendrix came up with 3 steals apiece.
