Gerald Wayne Goble, PhD., passed away peacefully on October 14, 2023, at his home in Boerne, TX at the age of 85.

Gerald was born in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Roy Earl and Gladys (Crotts) Goble. He joined the U.S. Air Force right after high school. Afterward, he attended Wichita State University, where he met and married Joan Marie Lintozzi.

Gerald continued his education at North Texas State University, pursuing his PhD in theoretical quantum physics. He worked as an engineer in communication systems and as a research scientist in Army research at the Pentagon, coordinating with the congressional staff.

He later served as the deputy project manager for a major army program.

Gerald became an accomplished author publishing non-fiction and fiction books. He is most noted for his fiction books, Jacob’s Coat, Strays, the Bunko Club Murder series, and the Jack Wellington series.

Gerald and Joan found their way to Boerne during the mid-90’s. In 1997, they established and operated a Boerne Tai Kwan Do business, Mor Ri Do, for many years. They were married for 53 years until her passing in April 2023.

Gerald is survived by his daughter, Anna Goble; four grandchildren, T.J. Boyle, Angeline Boyle, Gerald James Boyle, and Mary Elizabeth Boyle; and three great-grandchildren, Bryan Daniel Boyle, Gage Tomlinson, and Gavin Tomlinson. He is also survived by his brother, Daniel Goble and his wife, Jo Ann, of Wichita, Kansas.

Gerald and Joan were laid to rest next to his parents in Penalosa, Kansas, on November 1, 2023. A memorial service will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home.
