Geneva boys play at Pantego Hoopfest

The Geneva School of Boerne boys hoops squad played in the Pantego Hoopfest last weekend at Pantego Christian School near the Dallas area.

The Eagles went 2-1 at the tournament and finished in third place at the event.

Geneva is 11-3 overall and visited Brentwood Christian Tuesday to open district and will then host Texas School for the Deaf Friday as part of a doubleheader with the girls team.

The girls tip off at 6:15 p.m. and the boys game starts at 7:30 p.m.

At the Pantego tourney, the Eagles opened with a 60-42 victory over Trinity Christian School.

From there, Geneva went on to face Grapevine Faith Academy and lost by the score of 53-40.

There was no shame in losing to the Grapevine Faith Academy team that went on to win the tournament.

In the third-place game, Geneva defeated Pantego Christian Academy, 41-34.

No Geneva players were named to the all-tournament team according to coach Julius McNeal, who said that that honor went to the first and second place teams only and not to the third-place squad.
