Seven Boerne High volleyball players were named all-district as voted upon by the coaches in 27-4A.
One of the Lady Greyhounds earned a superlative award after junior Adyson Hudson was named the district’s Newcomer of the Year.
Junior Ava Rocchio and junior Calynn Ramos were both named first- team selections, sophomore Aubree Stegall and sophomore Paige Stegall were selected to the second team, while sophomore Haley Wheeler and junior Kinsley Sawyer landed on the honorable mention squad.
Boerne High finished the year with a record of 21-20 and went 5-7 in district to finish in fourth and earn a playoff spot.
BHS opened the playoffs with a match against Cuero in Seguin and lost to the Lady Gobblers in four sets.
The Lady Greyhounds were in a tough district that included 4A state champion Davenport. The Lady Wolves went on to win the title in November.
Tisha Pettibon, who had been the coach of Boerne since the school reopened in the fall of 2009, will not return as coach of the Lady Greyhounds after serving in that role for the past 15 years.
Pettibon’s replacement is scheduled to be hired soon.
