Deer win low-scoring game over Center Point

The Comfort girls traveled the 10 miles down Highway 27 to take on Center Point Lady Tuesday night. It wasn’t exactly a clash of titans as neither team reached double digits in any quarter, but the Deer came away with an 11-point triumph, 25-14.

With the win the Deer improve to 3-8 on the season. They will play in the Harper Tournament this weekend that began Thursday.

Comfort was up 9-4 at the end of one and then outscored the Lady Pirates, 6-0, in the second for the 15-4 halftime lead.

The final two quarters had baseball like scores of 4-3 in favor of Comfort in the third and 7-6 in the fourth in favor of Center Point.

Comfort’s Rachel Adams led the Deer with 12 points, Tindall Ahrens tallied 4, Jael Hernandez added 3 points, while Alexa Lozano, Katie Haffner and Cynthia Leos all netted 2.

Ahrens grabbed a dozen rebounds, Adams came up with 3 steals and Hernandez dished out 3 assists.
