The Hounds went into overtime before falling to Wichit Falls Hirschi Friday in the Alamodome. Boerne was ahead through the first three quarters but the Huskiees caught them in the fourth and then defeated Boerne in overtime.

Devin Styles led the team with 23 points and Houston Hendrix grabbed 12 rebounds.

Champion

The Boerne Champion boys basketball season came to an end Thursday in the Alamodome after the Chargers were defeated by Manfield Timberview in the 5A state semifinals, 55-43.

Champion held a first-quarter lead and was even ahead by two points early in the third but a 16-2 run to end the quarter helped the Wolves pull away.

Braden Baum finished with 23 points to lead the Chargers team that finished the year with a record of 33-7. It's the first time a Champion basketball team has played at the state tournament.
