BHS boys suffer first loss of season but bounce back to win next game

Boerne High got in two boys basketball games before the Thanksgiving break and split the two.

The Greyhounds lost by a point to Medina Valley and then defeated Highlands in games played last Monday and Tuesday.

BHS is 7-1 overall and played John Jay Monday at Greyhound Gym. For results of that game, see this weekend’s Boerne Star.

Vs. Medina Valley

The Panthers handed the Greyhounds their first loss of the year, 60-59, last Monday.

Casen Hoegemeyer, who just wrapped up football season, led the team with 18 points, Noa Sanchez finished with 11 points, Nic Hernandez tallied 9, Sam Holland scored 8, Luke Fox netted 6, Slade Salinas added 4 and Gus Addington chipped in with 3.

Salinas and Will Traylor both grabbed 5 rebounds, Hernandez and Fox tallied 4 assists each and Addington came up with 2 steals.

Vs. Highlands

Boerne bounced back the next day and defeated Highlands, 56-43, on the road.

The Hounds had four in double digits after Luke Fox led the team with 14 points, Slade Salinas added 13, Noa Sanchez dropped in a dozen and Sam Holland tallied 10.

Will Traylor scored 5 and Julien Hartman hit for 2.

Holland and Hernandez snagged 7 rebounds apiece, Sanchez dished out 8 assists, while Fox and Hernandez recorded 3 steals each.
