BHS girls record 4 homers against Uvalde, also go 6-0 at Seguin tourney

BHS improves to 13-3 overall and is scheduled to play Hondo on Friday.

Before Wednesday, Boerne was entered in the Seguin tourney where they went 6-0 and won all six games by a combined score of 43-1 and posted five shutouts.

Of Boerne’s 13 hits on Wednesday, 9 went for extra bases.

Ava Nieto and Brooke Sivek recorded home runs in the third as BHS tallied 10 runs in the frame, while Isa Renteria and Ava Renteria added homers in the fourth frame. The Sivek and Ava Renteria homers were both inside-the-park varieties.

Heidi Maytum tripled and doubled, Taylor Wilson hit 2 doubles and Madi Dorrow also had a double.

Six different players scored 2 runs each and five of them drove in at least 2 runs.

Ava Rodriguez singled and was the winning pitcher after she only gave up 1 hit, 2 walks, no runs and fanned 6.

Seguin tourney

BHS opened with a 1-0 win over Weslaco. Cameron Cooper had Boerne’s only hit and doubled to bring in Brooke Sivek in the sixth for Boerne’s only run.

Ava Rodriguez struck out 13 and didn’t give up a hit or a run from the circle.

Also on Thursday, the Hounds beat Harlingen, 8-1, for the only run it gave up all weekend.

Madi Dorrow, Heidi Maytum and Reese Wilson all doubled, Brooke Sivek hit 2 singles and drove in 2 runs, while Dorrow added a single and Wilson scored 2 runs.

Dorrow also picked up the win in 4 innings and gave up 2 hits, 1 run, fanned 7 and walked 3.

Boerne won another close game on Friday, this time against Del Valle, 2-0.

BHS had 3 hits, 2 singles from Madi Dorrow and another single from Brooke Sivek.

Cameron Cooper and Reese Wilson both scored, while Wilson and Ava Nieto drove in one run each.

Ava Rodriguez tossed 59 pitches and only yielded 1 hit, struck out 5 and walked 2.

Later on Friday, BHS beat La Grange, 10-0, behind 15 hits.

Reese Wilson hit a 3-run homer and finished with 4 RBI, Ava Nieto knocked out 2 doubles and a single, Brooke Sivek hit 2 singles and scored twice, Ava Renteria plated 2 runs, Cameron Cooper had 2 hits and scored twice, Ava Rodriguez scored 2 runs and Madi Dorrow doubled.

Dorrow picked up the win and yielded 3 hits, no runs, sat down 6 and walked 1.

On Saturday, BHS beat Floresville, 15-0, behind 13 hits, while Ava Rodriguez tossed a no hitter and only walked 1 batter.

Rodriguez also homered and picked up 2 RBI, while Isa Renteria recorded a homer of her own and pushed in 2 runs.

Madi Dorrow tripled and Cameron Cooper hit a double, 2 singles, scored twice and pushed in 6 runs, Brooke Sivek scored 3 runs and Taylor Wilson cross home plate twice.

The Lady Hounds closed out the tourney with a 7-0 win over New Braunfels and scored 6 in the third.

Madi Dorrow had a strong game and hit a home run, picked up 2 RBI and was the winning pitcher after she gave up 3 hits, no runs, fanned 5 and walked 1.

Brooke Sivek hit 3 singles and scored a run, Cameron Cooper doubled and scored once, Taylor Wilson doubled and collected 2 RBI and Ava Nieto hit 2 singles.
