NOVEMBER 18

• 12th annual YMCA Turkey Trot, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Main Plaza. Te run starts on the west side of the Main Plaza and runs through small and quiet neighborhoods. The 5K and 10K take place on the same course except for 10K runners, who will run the course twice. Registration: athleteguild. com.

• Crop Hunger Walk is set for 9 a.m. at St. Mark Family Life Center, 208 W. Bandera Road. The one-mile fundraiser aims to support the end of hunger, one step at a time. The event includes prizes, refreshments and other activities.

• Boerne Handmade Market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St Peter’s Cana Ballroom, 202 W. Kronkosky St., the largest market of its kind in south Texas. Jewelry, apparel, leather goods, toys, home decor and art to handmade candles, food, drink, and more; every item is unique and handcrafted.

• Essentrics at Ministry of Dance, 65 S. Main St., from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Enjoy a complimentary workout to help begin the day with a dynamic morning stretch for improved mobility, strength and flexibility.

• Chili cook-off at The Roundup Outdoor Music Venue, 531 FM 3351 in Boerne. A day of great music, tasty chili and fun times. Team entrance fee is $100; limited to 40 teams. For details: [email protected]

• Cruising into Blacksmith, 5-8 p.m. Blacksmith Grill, 103 E. San Antonio Road, has you covered at their Cruise-In Car Night. The car show is the perfect opportunity to display your prized possession while enjoying a fantastic atmosphere with fellow car enthusiasts.

NOVEMBER 20

• Herff Farm Bird Survey, 8-11:30 a.m. Volunteers will help identify and count bird species in the riparian, savannah and human structure habitats of Herff Farm and submit findings to eBird. Several miles of walking on generally flat ground; all levels of birding experience are welcome.

• The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. at 1-800-Plumber + Air of Northwest San Antonio, 8310 Speedway Drive, Ste C in San Antonio, to celebrate the plumbing, air and heating service’s business.

NOVEMBER 21

• The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon- cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. at Real Fashion Boutique, 529 TX 46 Unit B-1, to celebrate the fashion boutique.

• The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon- cutting ceremony at 1:30 p.m. at Beefsteak Kitchen + Bar, 27650 I-10 Suite 101, to celebrate the restaurant’s recent opening.

NOVEMBER 23 HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving Feast from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tapatio Springs, 1 Resort Way in Boerne. From charcuteries and seafood, exquisite turkey, and carved meats, to delicious side staples and pies, Tapatio Springs has all your favorites. $75 per adult, $30 per child under 12. Reservations: 830- 537- 6245.

• Dickens on Main from noon to 9 p.m. in Historical Downtown Boerne. Watch Main Street transform into a vintage holiday wonderland, complete with live music and performers, lights, food, kids’ activities and snow.

• Old West Christmas Light Fest opens for the season at Enchanted Springs Ranch, 5-10 p.m., featuring more than 40 Old West buildings glowing amid more than 2 million twinkling lights. Stroll through and enjoy the perfect Hill Country Christmas, with dazzling lights and family fun around the campfire, with hot chocolate, beer, wine and more.

NOVEMBER 25

• Breakfast with Santa at Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort, 8:30 a.m. to noon. Families can enjoy a delicious brunch while the children share their holiday wishes with jolly Saint Nick himself. Reservations at 830-537-6236.

• “Christmas In Comfort” with America Reclaimed, 810 Avenue A in Comfort, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A huge, fun Christmas event to get the holiday shopping going. The day starts with a craft fair in downtown Comfort, with a fun parade and evening fireworks.

• Thanksgiving Weekend 5K Beer Run, Free Roam Brewing Company, 11 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Work off that Thanksgiving feast and bring along family and friends (or ditch them and make new ones if you’ve had enough) and participate in a 5K event. Run, walk, jog, trot -- whatever goes. All ages and all levels are welcome.

Enjoy Tinsel, an a’cappella quartet, for sounds of the Christmas season with contemporary classics and beloved carols. Described as sleek, sophisticated, and distinctive, Tinsel is not your average group of Christmas carolers.
