Boerne girls roll past another opponent

The Boerne High girls basketball team steamrolled another opponent after the Lady Greyhounds kicked the Mules from Alamo Heights Friday night, 71-18.

BHS improved to 2-0 and has scored 157 points in two games so far. The Lady Hounds were at Northside Sports Gym Tuesday to play Stevens and will play in the SAISD tourney this weekend.

Boerne High jumped out to a 21-3 lead in the first quarter and then tallied 19 in the second, while the Mules scored 8 to give BHS a 40-11 lead.

The Lady Hounds netted 20 in the third and didn’t allow a point for the 60-11 advantage. In the fourth period, Boerne outscored Heights, 11-7.

Averi Aaron led the team with 22 points on 9 of 18 shooting. Chloe Donnell was also in double digits with 12 points and Abby Smith netted 11 to make it three in double figures.

Savannah Salinas and Mickena Randle were almost in double figures with 9 points for Salinas and 8 for Randle. Meredith Mcleod scored 6, Addison Palluch had 2 and Shelbie Porter hit a free throw.

Aaron grabbed a team-high 7 rebounds, Smith hauled in 6 boards, Palluch dished out 4 assists, Donnell came up with 6 steals, while Smith and Aaron had 4 steals, while Aaron and Jenna Ruede tallied 3 assists apiece.
