The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team won its district opener Tuesday in Mason behind 34 points from Maegan Riebel.
Riebel’s 34 points helped the Lady Eagles edge the Punchers, 55-51. Geneva starts the year at 1-0 and hosted TMI Episcopal Thursday and won that game. They also hosted Castle Hills Saturday.
In Tuesday’s contest, Riebel was 8 for 12 from 2-point range, knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and then went 12 for 17 at the free-throw line for her 34 points.
Kyra Petty was also in double digits with 11 points and made it a double- double after she also grabbed 10 rebounds.
Madeline Egbert netted 5 points and Morgan Howard tallied 4 as only four Geneva players scored in the game.
Bethany DeLuna dished out 3 assists and Riebel came up with 6 steals.
