Time For Three: Not to be missed Defying convention and boundaries, the recent Grammy Award-winning Time for Three stands at the busy intersection of classical music, Americana, and singer-songwriter.
Bonded by an uncommon blend of vocals and instruments -- Charles Yang and Nick Kendall, on violins, and Ranaan Meyer on double bass – Time for Three has found a unique voice of expression to share with the world.
To experience Time for Three live is to hear the various eras, styles and traditions of Western music fold in on themselves and emerge anew. Be prepared for a charismatic and energetic evening
Celebrating ‘Artist of the Month’
Mara Yangson Allison, Boerne Art League’s Artist of the month, is a ceramic artist and painter.
Art has always been a part of Allison’s life growing up in the Philippines. Her interest in the visual arts was encouraged by her mother.
She thrived during summer vacations when she was able to attend all manner of workshops. Like so many before her, art disappeared from her life after starting a family in her 20s.
In 2002 Allison courageously left an abusive marriage, afterward dealing with fear, pain and anxiety. Navigating the trauma of divorce and hardship of single motherhood, she remained faithful to God, who she credits with her joining a local church whose family of believers showed her kindness and love.
She began attending creative workshops, re-igniting her love for making art. Allison found her path to healing through her faith, and creativity.
Allison is thankful that her two sons have grown into amazing young men, and she has remarried and has two “bonus” children. She spends her time in her home studio where she creates commissioned and non-commissioned artworks in ceramics and paintings. She currently teaches private classes at the Old School Makerspace in San Antonio.
Find her work at her website: maraallison.com, and at social media, or in person at the New Braunfels Art League Gallery.
