Geneva falls in TAPPS volleyball playoffs

Geneva’s volleyball season came to a close with a second- round playoff loss Tuesday night.

The Eagles were on the road for a second-round playoff match in Austin on Halloween night against Brentwood Christian.

It was the second meeting of the year between Geneva and Brentwood Christian and the Bears won both matches this season.

After beating the Eagles in a regular-season match, Brentwood Christian won the rematch in Tuesday’s playoff match in straight sets, 25-10, 25-14, 25-21.

Before Tuesday’s contest, the Lady Eagles won its first-round match against Houston Cypress Christian in Schulenburg, 25-20, 25-21, 27-25.

Geneva ends its 2023 season with a record of 17-19-2 under first-year coach Madison Nagy.

Seniors on their roster include Kenzie Cates, Emily Coultress, Lily Kaiser and Cammy Curtis.
