Champion races at two different events

In its final meet before district, the Champion cross country teams raced at two different events.
Some of the team went to the Dallas Jesuit XC Classic last Saturday and those that didn’t make the trip to Dallas competed in town at the Boerne High meet at Voss Middle School.
Up next for the Chargers is their district meet Oct. 12 at Starcke Park in Seguin.
Strake Jesuit Meet Varsity Boys
The Champion boys were 6th with 222 points. McKinney Boyd won the event with 54 points in the field of 26 teams.
Luis Tovar had the team’s best finish in 16:07.7 for 15th, Charlie Houck posted a 16:23.8 for 30th, Ben Matamoros finished in 16:34.2 for 45th, Luke Grametbauer clocked in at 16:52.6 for 64th, Noah Perez placed 68th in 16:56.6, Patrick Thornton came in 75th in 17:02.8 and Matthew Duran was 78th in 17:05.7.
William Coover also ran and posted 17:09.3, while Evan Simmons finished in 17:54 to round out the team.
Varsity Girls

The Lady Chargers were 8th with 209 points. Prosper won the meet with 95 points in a field of 23 teams.

Kynley Albright finished in 20:00.3 for 31st, Breanna Hempton came in 55th with a 20:46, Emma Rice clocked in at 20:52.1 for 58th, Kiley Johnson was 64th in 21:00.3, Grace Mondini placed 71st in 21:09.2 and Olivia Clemenson was 87th in 21:27.4.
BHS Meet Varsity Boys
Caleb Dehart was the only Charger runner entered in the boys varsity race and placed 4th overall with a time of 16:40.27.
Varsity Girls
The Champion girls were 5th with 132 points and were led by Alina Crowell who came in 16th with a time of 22:21.37.
Emma Radtke finished 25th after posting a 23:33.97, Abigail Clark and Tina Pham went 29th-30th with times of 24:15.44 and 24:21.55, while Ava Smith rounded out the scoring five with a time of 25:26.35.
Meredith Boehme posted a 28:21.24 for 38th, Emmy Lyons was 40th in 31:14 and Brynn Colvin came in 41st after running a 33:08.
