Champion continues non-district action Tuesday when they visit Smithson Valley.

The Chargers opened the tourney with a 9-7 win over Clemens on Thursday.

Jordan Ballin had 2 hits, scored 3 runs and picked up 2 RBI and Jacob Gresham also drove in 2 runs, while Ryan Brandon walked twice and scored a run.

Cooper Marshall picked up the win in 4 innings of work and gave up 1 hit, while Jacob Caraway and Gresham and both tossed in the game.

Up next on Thursday, Clark clubbed the Chargers, 12-4.

Aaron Basham doubled, while Aiden Pickett, Connor Holtorf, Luke Hamilton and Karson Kaiser all singled.

Cam Logan, Ryan Brandon, Jordan Ballin and Pickett scored one run each.

Basham took the loss and went 3 innings, while Nic Cortez and Holtorf both pitched.

On Friday, Champion suffered its second straight loss and was clipped by Eagles Pass, 12-3.

The Chargers had 5 hits including a home run by Karson Kaiser who also picked up 2 RBI, while Connor Holtorf finished with 3 singles.

Josh Bowman singled and scored, while Kaiser and Jordan Ballin scored once.

Andrew Frei went 3.2 innings and took the loss, while Jacob Caraway, Andrew Paulson and Ethan Harrison all tossed in the game.

The Chargers bounced back on Friday with a 13-5 win over Taft after they scored 10 runs in the fourth.

Josh Bowman tripled and singled, collected 3 RBI and scored twice, Jacob Caraway hit 3 singles, Jordan Ballin doubled, scored twice and picked up 2 RBI, Aiden Pickett crossed home plate twice, Connor Holtorf doubled and singled and pushed in 3 runs, while Ryan Brandon recorded 3 singles and scored twice.

Champion closed out thetourney with a 13-7 win over Judson behind 16 hits.

Jacob Caraway homered and tripled, scored 2 runs and collected 2 RBI, Jordan Ballin doubled and singled and scored 2 runs, Aiden Pickett knocked out 4 singles and scored 3 runs, Connor Holtorf doubled and singled, pushed in 3 runs and scored twice, Ryan Brandon knocked out 2 doubles, singled, collected 3 RBI and scored once and Karson Kaiser singled and brought in 2 runs.
