Thanks to Mathnasium of Boerne, our youth department will challenge boys and girls to become “mathletes” and engage in fun, hands-on math activities.

We are deeply grateful to the team from Mathnasium for this program that makes math so fun and exciting. We also thank the center for sponsoring our weekly storytime at Boerne Radio (103.9) every Saturday at 7:45 a.m.

Spring break special

Boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to climb aboard for an amazing adventure to Asia during spring break. Come each day, March 14-18, at 10 a.m. and enjoy a fun craft or edible activity from a different Asian country.

We conclude our trip with a feature program to China hosted by Yaping Zhang. Miss Yaping is a graduate of the Beijing Language and Culture University with degrees in teaching Mandarin Chinese as a second language. She has taught college and elementary school students for seven years.

She additionally offers courses in language, culture and business to students of all ages. She also does programs for Chinese New Year cele brations that include exciting dragon dances.

At 10 a.m. on Friday, March 18, Miss Yaping will treat our library youngsters to a dragon story and craft. She will also challenge children to try their hand at using chopsticks and play a fun game. The morning will conclude with tasty fortune cookies.

Please note that our spring break activities are limited in space and supplies! First come, first served.

Radio Storytime: Early bird time

Tune in to Boerne Radio (KBRN FM 103.9) for a weekly Saturday storytime at a new early bird time of 7:45 a.m. Enjoy a dramatic reading of a quality story suitable for the whole family.

Something for adults

Jenny Russell is a local chaplain and certified disaster spiritual caregiver. She will be signing copies of her book “Holy Feminine Wisdom: Intimate Stories of Women’s Spiritual Journeys” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 12. It’s part of the Second Saturday Author series at the library.

This is a perfect book for Women’s History Month!
