Lady Texans top Boerne volleyball team
Boerne High hosted Wimberley last Friday night for a district volleyball match and it was a rough outing for the Lady Greyhounds.
Wimberley scored the first six points of Game 1 for the quick 6-0 lead and never looked back on its way to sweep of BHS at Greyhound Gym.
The Lady Texans won the match, 25-6, 25-20, 25-17. Boerne drops to 20-17 this year and is 4-5 in district. They were home Tuesday to face Navarro and win there would really help their playoff chances.
The Lady Hounds are currently fourth in the district standings and only the top four teams advance to the postseason.
Boerne and Navarro went five sets in the first round. After Navarro, the Lady Hounds close out a four-game home stand by hosting Canyon Lake Friday before playing Fredericksburg to close out the regular season Tuesday.
In last Friday’s match, Ava Rocchio led the team with 6 kills and a block, Ceci Theriot and Aubree Stegall added 4 kills each, Calynn Ramos tallied 12 assists and Morgan Naylor had 7 assists.
Adyson Hudson came up with a team-high 15 digs, Kinsley Sawyer and Ramos recorded 5 digs each and Naylor chipped in with 4 digs.
