OCTOBER 19

• The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon- cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Thursday at Cibolo Creek Dermatology Group, 1580 S Main St Ste 101-A, to celebrate the grand opening of the office’s new location.

OCTOBER 20

• San Antonio Liver Symposium, Hilton San Antonio Hill Country. Join them on the 20th and 21st to learn about innovative insights and advances in liver cancer research and treatment.

• The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon- cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Annie’s Apothecary, 211 S Saunders St., to celebrate the pharmacy’s new ownership.

• Family Night Hike, Cibolo Nature Center, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Venture on the trails at sunset and discover the various living organisms that call The Cibolo home. Family Night Hikes are great ways to explore the Cibolo and for children to see what lives in the park in the dark.

OCTOBER 21

• The Boerne Area Model Society is hosting its annual Fall Fun Fly. The event will have radio-controlled aircraft and pilots from the Boerne, San Antonio and Kerrville areas flying their aircraft. There will be all sorts of aircraft, from small to large, prop-driven planes to EDF (electric-ducted fan), to jets and helicopters. They will have a raffle and a silent auction. It is an AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) sanctioned event.

• Fall NPSOT Native Plant Sale, Herff Farm, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Buy your native plants and learn about their many benefits during the Farmers Market. Members of the Boerne Chapter Native Plant Society of Texas will be on hand to answer gardening questions and more.

• Comfort Tour of Historic Homes, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Comfort Heritage Foundation features six historic and unique homes for tour, primarily a walking tour along High Street. Owners and docents will greet visitors and answer questions about the homes, their histories, their residents, and what renovations, if any, have been made to them. The Comfort Museum and Comfort Public Library renovation will also be open for Tour of Homes participants to see. Tickets are $25 at Comfort Library, Comfort Chamber of Commerce office, or on the day of the tour at the Old Bank Building, at Seventh and High streets.

• Fall Fest at The Cibolo, Herff Farm, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hayrides, pumpkin & gourd patch, chainsaw pumpkin carving. Come stay awhile and enjoy a family- friendly, pet-friendly, fall day at the farm.

• Come learn about Boerne’s pioneers at the annual Cemetery Tour beginning at 10 a.m. Ten actors will be on hand to tell you about the lives of the residents who came before us. Free admission.

• Barktoberfest, Main Plaza, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This Oktoberfest- inspired festival will be held on the main plaza in Boerne and will be complete with doggy dash races, a dog costume contest, local beer vendors, music, food trucks, pet adoptions from local rescues, a petting zoo, and more. Free to attend.

• Harvest Festival, Antique Tractor Pull, at the AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, from 10 a.m. to 4 pm. Come watch antique tractors from around Texas as they compete to pull the heaviest weight the farthest. Hayrides, music, food trucks, craft vendors and more. Free to attend.

• Kendall County Wild Game Dinner at the Kendall County Youth Agriculture and Equestrian Center, from 4-10 p.m. Enjoy some of the finest food out there. Fan favorites include bacon-wrapped quail, fried alligator and axis, and wild boar chili verde. Tickets are $25 cash at the gate.

• Boerne BOO, Patrick Heath Public Library, 4-7 p.m. The fall festival is held each year around Halloween. Join us for a ghastly good time at this free family- friendly event with arts and crafts, trick or treating, bounce houses, a costume contest, carnival games, food trucks, music, and of course lots of candy.

• 7th annual “Hill Country’s Got Talent” contest at the Kendall County Fairgrounds, from 6-10 p.m. Join the Boerne Community Theatre for the best Hill Country has to offer as talented contestants compete for prizes and the right to call themselves the “Best in the Texas Hill Country.” Event includes a talent show, dinner and a silent auction.

• Music in the Cave: The Haunted Show, at Cave Without A Name, 7-9 p.m. Haunted stories, music, humor, and surprises, for all ages. This is The Haunted Show featuring Rahim Quazi, Thiago Nascimento, Dina Nesterenko, and Haley Sicking. Tickets at www. cavewithoutaname. com.

OCTOBER 22

• “Ford vs Ferrari’ movie screening, Palladium at The Rim. The Texas Hill Country Mustang Club is hosting a private screening of the movie. Included with your ticket is: admission to the movie, a $10 credit toward food and drink purchases, and a donation to Hill Country Family Services. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

OCTOBER 26

• Texas Retired Teachers Association Fall Conference, in the Cana Ballroom at St Peter’s Catholic Church, beginning at 10 a.m. Join fellow retired teachers at this fall conference featuring vendors, AMBA representatives, a TRS presentation, and a memorial service.

OCTOBER 28

• St Mark’s Presbyterian Church Fall Fest, 9 a.m. to noon. Featuring games, food, raffle items, and trunk or treat. The trunk or treat will include a visit from Boerne Police Department and Boerne Fire Department officials and will occur at 11 a.m.

• The Kendall County Historical Commission at 10 a.m. will dedicate a Texas Historical Commission marker for the Wren Cemetery, 50 Spring Creek Road.
