Both the Boerne Champion and Boerne High tennis squads were in action this week with district matches held Tuesday.

Champion hosted Wagner and the Greyhounds welcomed Davenport Tuesday in Boerne.

The BISD teams picked up a pair of lopsided wins. Both are scheduled to be in action this weekend and are scheduled to start the playoffs in early October.

Boerne Champion

The Chargers hosted Wagner and topped the Thunderbirds Tuesday, 19-0.

The Chargers were scheduled to play San Angelo Central Saturday and then visit Pieper Tuesday Oct. 3, for a district match before beginning playoffs.

Champion improved to 10-4 overall and 6-0 in district with Tuesday’s win.

Boerne High

The Greyhounds took on Smithson Valley in a non-district match last week and then hosted Davenport Tuesday in Boerne for a district match and won both.

Boerne beat Smithson Valley, 15-4, and then defeated Davenport, 16-2.

BHS visited Fredericksburg Saturday to take on the Battlin’ Billies in a district match. They were also scheduled to run into Wall Saturday afternoon.

After that, they’ll visit Wimberley Wednesday, Oct. 4, before opening playoffs.

The Hounds are 9-3 overall and 3-0 in district.
