Rangers run past Lady Chargers

Boerne Champion continued district volleyball action with a road match Tuesday and faced one of the front runners in 26-5A when they visited Smithson Valley.

The Lady Rangers defeated the Champion girls in straight sets, 25-13, 25-10, 25-17, to drop the Lady Chargers to 18-14 overall and 2-4 in district.

Champion closed out the first round of 26-5A Friday at home against Kerrville Tivy. After hosting the Lady Antlers, Champion begins second- round action Tuesday against Veterans Memorial.

Raylynn Pitts led the team in kills with 7, Briley Wolff added 6 kills, Taylor Fenton finished with 5 kills and Ella Coleman had 4 kills.

Azteca Crawford served up 2 of the team’s 4 aces, Cameryn Seaux and Coleman added 1 ace each, while Wolff, Pitts and Coleman all had 1 block.

Coleman led the team in digs with 5, Crawford tallied 4 digs, Addy Schiffelbein, Pitts and Ryann Michalec all chipped in with 2 digs, while Crawford led the Chargers in assists with 17.
