The Boerne Champion water polo teams headed out towards Houston last weekend to play in the Crusader Classic where the boys and girls each played four matches over three days.

The Champion boys went 2-2 at the event and beat Dallas Jesuit twice, 13-8 and 15-14, and suffered losses to Strake Jesuit 14-9, and Foster, 13-12. The Foster loss came basically after Foster scored a goal at the buzzer.

The Champion boys are 13-2 overall and continue district play Saturday at the Northside Aquatics Center with matches against Clark and Health Careers.

The Champion girls went 1-3 at the event in Houston. The Lady Chargers beat the St. Agnes JV Thursday night, 20-2, and lost to the St. Agnes varsity Friday, 15-5.

Champion closed out the event Saturday with a 24-0 loss to Foster and a 15-2 setback to Brazoswood.

The Lady Chargers are 10-5 overall and also continue district play Saturday against Clark and Health Careers.
