The Boerne Independent School District Communications Department and the Boerne Education Foundation won 14 statewide awards from the Texas School Public Relations Association. The awards were presented at the 2022 TSPRA Conference at the end of February.
The 14 awards include 10 Gold Stars as well as two Silver and Bronze Stars. The Communications Department consists of Director of Communications Bryan Benway, Communications Specialist and Parent Involvement Coordinator Amanda Payne and Multimedia Specialist Erik Armenta, while Yvette Reyna serves as the executive director of the Boerne Education Foundation and Community Partnerships.
“To have our communications department and the Boerne Education Foundation recognized at a statewide level shows the hard work and commitment we have to continue to serve our students, parents and staff,” Boerne ISD Superintendent Thomas Price said. “Communication is the key to the success of any organization, and this is especially true of a school district. That is why I am so proud of this recognition and how valuable this department is to the success of Boerne ISD.”

Each year, TSPRA has an award competition among school district communication professionals and education foundation executive directors across the state. There are nearly 60 different categories, such as print publications, writing, photography, video and events.
