Geneva students earn Merit Scholar recognition
Geneva School of Boerne is proud to announce that three seniors earned recognition from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
Claire Coultress was named National Merit Semifinalist, while William Muck and Susanna Nilsson were named National Merit Commended Scholars.
These students achieved these awards for their academic accomplishments on the 2022 Preliminary SAT/ National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Coultress is the daughter of Julie and Russell Coultress; Muck is the son of Kelly and Andrew Muck, and Nilsson is the daughter of Lisa and Joel Nilsson. All three seniors are from Boerne.
The trio will graduate as part of the Class of 2024, the 14th class to graduate from Geneva. This is also the 14th consecutive senior class at Geneva to have members earning National Merit recognition.
“We applaud the work of National Merit Scholarship Corporation in recognizing exceptionally talented students and encouraging the pursuit of academic excellence at all levels,” Matt Donnowitz, Geneva Rhetoric School headmaster, said.
“We are thankful to have a rich history of National Merit scholars at Geneva and celebrate their academic accomplishments which put them among the top ranked students in the nation,” Donnowitz said.
More than 1.3 million students took the PSAT in October 2023 and entered the National Merit Programs, a nationwide competition for the recognition and awards conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
Nationally, 16,000 students were named semifinalists and 34,000 were named commended students.
