The Boerne Champion volleyball team was on the road Tuesday and suffered its first district loss at Seguin.
The Lady Matadors defeated the Lady Chargers in three close sets, 25-23, 25-19, 25-22.
Champion slips to 17-11 overall and 1-1 in district. The Lady Chargers had another tough match Friday when they hosted New Braunfels Canyon, the No. 14th ranked 5A team in the state according to the latest Texas Girls Coaches Association poll that was released Monday.
In the match, Ella Coleman and Raylynn Pitts both finished with 8 kills and Brielle Boothe tallied 7 kills, while Briley Wolff and Taylor Fenton added 3 kills each.
No one served up an ace for the Chargers in the match, Wolff had 3 blocks and Cassidy Breuer, Pitts and Erin Martin added 1 block apiece.
Ella Coleman came up with 12 digs, Pitts added 9 digs, Boothe had 8 digs, Cameryn Seaux finished with 6 digs, Ryann Michalec totaled 5 digs and 14 assists, while Azteca Crawford recorded 13 assists.
