The Boerne Champion cross country teams were on the course last Saturday at the Canyon Cougar Invitational XC meet held at Starcke Park in Seguin and competed in the 5A-6A division.

It was a strong showing by the Chargers after the boys took first and the girls tied with host NB Canyon for first but ended up in second based on the tiebreaker, which is the team’s sixth-place finisher.

Chargers coach Jonathan Tate said the course measured 300 to 400 meters too long and was not a true 5K race.
