Christina Bergmann, a fifth generation founding family member with a long, family history of service and engagement in Kendall County, has announced her intention to seek re-election as Kendall County Precinct 1 Commissioner in the March 2024 Republican primary.
Building on 30-plus years of service to her hometown and county beginning at age 16 when she joined the Boerne Volunteer Fire Department as its first female firefighter -- Bergmann seeks to continue her family’s legacy of service.
In addition to her role as Commissioner of Precinct 1 and as current Judge Pro Tem, Bergmann’s service record includes two terms as councilwoman for the city of Boerne, service on the city’s Historic Landmark Commission, and more than 30 years of service in the Boerne Volunteer Fire Department.
“I’m ready and prepared to continue my service to Kendall County. Protecting our natural resources, especially water during seasons of drought, is of paramount importance to our future needs,” Bergmann said. “ I also think we need to find ways to preserve our heritage in a time of unprece dented growth.
“ As a mother of two children, I want my children to experience the same quality of life I enjoyed growing up in a small town with small town values,” she added.
Bergmann serves as a board member for the Cibolo Preserve Board, secretary for the Rotary Club of Boerne, director for the 100 Club of Kendall County, and director for the Boerne Chamber Advisory Board.
She served as treasurer for the Kendall County Republican Women and was recently inducted into the Boerne Independent School District’s Distinguished Alumni. She is a 1999 graduate of Texas State University with a major in business management.
She holds more than a dozen firefighting and environmental clean-up and FEMA certifications, including intermediate emergency operations center functions from the Texas Division of Emergency Management, and basic environmental law from the Capital Area Regional Environmental Task Force.
She has completed the Commissioners Court advance curriculum through the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas. Her education, work experience, numerous certifications, and experiences have qualified her to serve Kendall County in emergency management situations, natural disasters, budgeting, operations, and leadership.
Bergmann is married to Michael Peese, owner of MAP Water Well Service and Drilling. They have been married for nearly 19 years and have two children, daughter Ember, and son Kastin, who attends Kendall Elementary School.
