It was a rough start to district play for the Boerne High volleyball team that visited Davenport to kick off 27-4A action Friday night.
The Lady Wolves swept the Lady Hounds and held them to just 7 points in the final set last Friday. Davenport won the match, 25-18, 25-19, 25-7 to drop Boerne to 16-11 overall.
BHS starts district at 0-1 and was looking for its first win Tuesday at home against Bandera. They’ll host Clemens Friday at 5:30 p.m. in a non-district match.
Haley Wheeler finished with 2 aces and 10 digs, Paige Stegall led the team in kills with 6, Ava Rocchio added 5 kills, had the team’s only block and tallied 9 digs, while Calynn Ramos finished with a team-high 16 assists.
Adyson Hudson came up with 10 digs and Ramos added 18 digs.
