COMFORT -- A select group of Hill Country artists will demonstrate, display, and sell their works representing a variety of media from oil paintings and pottery to glasswork at the 2023 Comfort Art Festival 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, September 16.

Artists will greet shoppers and have displays inside and outside of Comfort restaurants, boutiques and specialty and antique shops throughout the downtown historic district. Comfort Art Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A list of artists and their locations will be available at participating merchants.

The Festival has become a Hill Country tradition, established in 2009 as the Comfort Fall Art Walk. Now in its 11th year, the event features artists who capture the spirit and beauty of the Hill Country in their works.

“The Comfort Art Festival is a wonderful way for shoppers to see the works of outstanding Hill Country artists and build their personal collections,” Julie Kuykendall, event organizer, said. “These one- of- a- kind pieces complement the antiques and unique finds that shoppers seek when they come to Comfort.”

Kuykendall noted that Comfort merchants gladly support the artists, welcoming them into their shops for the day.

“ Our event provides visitors with a great day of shopping in the Texas Hill Country as fall temperatures arrive,” she added. “Our shops are an easy walk from each other with restaurants and wine tasting rooms nearby.”

A partial list of participating artists includes: Tom Bell, painting; George Brin, wood dulcimers; Daneshu Clarke, oil/pastel painting; Tina Couet, stained glass; Susan Die, fused glass; Fiona Graves, watercolors/pencil; Jackie Knott, oil painting; Millard Kuykendall, oil/acrylic painting; Paula Lay, watercolors; Teri Jo McReynolds, oil/acrylic painting; Robin Mahan, painting; Mike Martin, print making/collagraphy; Jess Munro, painting/ photography; Deborah Myers, photography; Judy Youngers, sculptural designs; Christine Oakes, sea glass; Cathy Pankratz, oil painting, and more.
