• Farmers Market at Herff Farm, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Buy products directly from local growers, ranchers, and crafters on a historic German farmstead in the Texas Hill Country. • Boerne Market Days, Main Plaza, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Market Days is held on the first full weekend of every month and is in the heart of Boerne’s historical district on Main Plaza. Artists, craftsmen, and vendors share their talents and wares to the sounds of some Texas homegrown musicians.
• Kendall County Fair parade starts at 10 a.m. in downtown Boerne along the Hill Country Mile. Floats, marching units, bands and Boerne groups and individuals participate in the parade. Parade starts on North Main at Frederick Road near the Boerne Fire Station and proceeds south on Main Street toward the county fairgrounds.

• The Bookshop Under the Windmill, next to the Patrick Heath Public Library, is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Find books, magazines, and movies ... all at great prices. The Bookshop is run by the Friends of the Boerne Public Library. Funds raised through the shop go back to the PHPL.

• Music in the Cave: The Axiom String Quartet, 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Cave Without A Name, 325 Kreutzberg Road. Outside Boerne. Axiom Quartet performs 1990s rock hits like Smells Like Teen Spirit, Iris, and Fields of Gold, back-to-back with classical music composed in the last decades of the 18th and 19th centuries, including pieces by Mozart, Brahms, Ravel and Joplin. • Nature Camp After school, Cibolo Nature Center. 3-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. All the fun of summer camp, during the school year. All activities will be held at the Cibolo Nature Center and Herff Farm where kids will have a chance to explore our 160-plus acres. Dropoff and pick-up at the Herff Farm Teaching Garden.
• Cibolo Nature Center Bird Survey, Cibolo Nature Center, 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Volunteers will help identify and count bird species in the riparian, Savannah and human structure habitats of Cibolo Nature Center. There will be several miles of walking on generally flat ground. All levels of birding experience are welcome.
• Chamber Closed: The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce will be closed on Monday, September 4 in observance of Labor Day. The Chamber will reopen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
• Library Closed: PHPL will be closed in observance of Labor Day and will reopen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

• Ribbon-cutting for Anytime Fitness Boerne, 1018 River Road, from 1:30-2 p.m. Join a ribbon-cutting celebrating Anytime Fitness Boerne and its new owners. Anytime Fitness Boerne is excited to announce that they’re under new ownership. The gym is open 247, 365 days out of the year.
• Healthcare Connections monthly meeting, 12-1 p.m. The mission of the monthly luncheon is to foster business and professional development relationships through regular meetings for the purpose of improving patient care while supporting community partners in healthcare. • Sisters’ Attic Thrift Store reopening at 10 a.m., Benedictine’s St. Scholastica Monastery, 216 W. highland Drive. Docents can be used at the Farmer’s Market, Historic Herff House, the visitor’s center, during school field trips, at Cibolo Trails, or teaching Nature Boxes. No experience needed; first time volunteers welcome.

Balderas has overseen multi-million-dollar facility projects, managed development contractors, and collaborated with various cultures worldwide.
• Ribbon-cutting at LD Bridal, 4:305 p.m. at 412 River Road, suite 104. Join the chamber for a ribbon-cutting celebrating LD Bridal’s grand opening. • “Cultivate - Earth Friendly Gardening and Landscaping” session 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Bexar County Master Gardeners hosts the free online biannual gardening workshops, ranging from watering practices to plant selection and maintenance.
