Three area cross country programs will begin their 2023 seasons this weekend, while another has already competed in two different meets.

Champion was scheduled to run at Westlake Friday, while Boerne High opens its season in Castroville at Medina Valley Saturday morning.

The Geneva School of Boerne is scheduled to run Saturday at the Spartans XC Invitational at Joshua Springs Park and Preserve.

The Chargers competed at the New Braunfels time trials on Aug. 12, but head coach Jonathan Tate said that wasn’t an actual meet, they were just recording times for their mile run.

Both BHS and Champion are scheduled to run next weekend at the rather large FEAST Invitational in Selma.

Comfort is off this weekend but has already run in two meets, the Early Bird Invitational in Ingram held Aug. 12 and the Antler Rust Buster last weekend.
