The Boerne Champion volleyball team helped co-host the Boerne ISD tournament last weekend and the Lady Chargers turned in a strong performance at the event.
Champion won all six of its matches to go 6-0 at the tourney and even had the tournament MVP.
Raylynn Pitts was named Tournament MVP, while Brielle Boothe and Briley Wolff were All-Tournament Selections.
The Lady Chargers improved to 10-4 overall and visited Steele Tuesday. After that, Champion plays in its final tournament of the year when they are at the Smithson Valley Texas Showdown this weekend.
The Boerne ISD tourney marked the first time the Lady Chargers played at home this season.
The Lady Chargers were 6-0 and only dropped one set at the tournament and swept the other five opponents they faced.
On the first day of the tourney, Champion sacked SACS, 25-11, 25-23, bumped Blanco, 25-13, 25-14 and pummeled Pearsall, 25-3, 25-10.
The Chargers returned Saturday and dropped its only set of the tourney to Anderson- Shiro but won the next two to take the match, 17-25, 25-13, 25-19.
Later in the day, Champion defeated JB Alexander from Laredo, 25-21, 27-25 and then closed it out by clubbing Corpus Christi Ray, 25-19, 25-15.
At the tourney, Pitts finished with 41 kills and 37 digs Azteca Crawford and Boothe tallied 11 aces each, Crawford and Ryann Michalec both registered 52 assists and Wolff came up with 8 blocks.
