Timothy Charles Murphy, 60, of Boerne, Texas, passed away surrounded by family on August 1, 2023. A Visitation/ Rosary was to be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Holt & Holt Funeral Home.

Timothy Charles Murphy, 60, of Boerne, Texas, passed away surrounded by family on August 1, 2023. A Visitation/ Rosary was to be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Holt & Holt Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.

Tim was born May 21, 1963, in Houston, Texas, to Floyd Phillip Murphy Jr. and Anne English Murphy. Tim attended Marian Christian High school. He was an allaround athlete participating in Football, Baseball and Track.

His Senior year Football season he played both ways as an Offensive Guard and Defensive Nose Guard, earning the Most Valuable Lineman award. Additionally, that same school year, Tim was voted School Wide Favorite.

Tim went on to Texas Tech University. While at Texas Tech he pledged Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and developed several close brotherhood bonds and enjoyed participating in multiple intramural sports.

After college Tim went to work in the insurance industry which eventually, in 2001, led him to Boerne, where he made his home. In 2012, Tim utilized his sales experience, changed industries and went to work for Stanbio Laboratory selling clinical diagnostic products as a regional sales associate and was employed there until recently. Tim received Rookie of Year in 2012.

Tim was a loving and devoted father to his daughter, Madi, and his three stepsons Austin, Alex and Tanner.

Tim was an artist, he played various musical instruments but excelled playing the guitar. He was Lead Guitar in a few different bands over his amateur musical career. Additionally, he had an extensive collection of guitars. Also, he would write songs or collaborate with his brother or close friends. Tim enjoyed annual trips to Galveston to “rock” or “jam” and party with his brothers and close friends. Tim loved the beach and enjoyed surfing.

A proud Irish American and Catholic, Tim was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and carried the Texas flag during the 1988 Houston, Texas, St. Patrick’s Day parade. Tim had a sharp sardonic wit and a hilarious sense of humor that kept most everyone that knew him continually laughing.

Tim was a deep thinker and a student of philosophy. He was well versed on various philosophers, primarily Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas. Additionally, he was fascinated and familiar with the works of Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung.

Tim is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Phillip Murphy Jr., and his grandparents, Floyd Phillip Murphy Sr., Marie Keene Murphy, Charles Chaplin English, and Emily Humphrey English.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Madilyn Claire Murphy; his stepsons, Austin Sutton, Alex Sutton, and Tanner Sutton; his mother, Anne English Murphy; his brother, Sean Phillip Murphy and wife Marcy and their son Liam; his brother, Floyd Brian Murphy and children Marie and Sean; his brother, Lyle Patrick Murphy and wife Deveren and their children Patrick and Kate.
