Donna Marie Green was born on June 11, 1935, in Hornell, New York, to J. Devere Green Sr. and Doris Faye McClure Green and passed away on August 10, 2023, at the age of 88.

Her family moved to Houston when Donna was around 10 years old. She grew up in the West University area then the family moved to the Memorial area.

As an adult, she dabbled in real estate, but that didn’t fit her style. She opened three ladies’ lingerie shops in the Houston area called Pennyrich Creations with one of her main stores by the Galleria.

After some years in Houston, she felt a calling for the Hill Country in the San Antonio/ Boerne area. She became a sales/marketer for many companies and traveled around the world as a keynote speaker.

She also was on the board of directors for several companies, but her favorite was with the Benedictine Sisters of Boerne. Even though Donna was not Catholic, she had great respect for the Sisters and loved how they helped the community. Donna went to water aerobics at the Sisters retreat at least 3-4 times per week. She loved her many friends she made at water aerobics.

There are so many people around the world that had a positive impact from her dynamic personality and her love of wanting to help people be the best they could be. Donna also loved watching the San Antonio Spurs. She was a huge fan; she didn’t miss a game on TV. On Sunday mornings, she would watch Joel Osteen and Charles Stanley. No one was to bother her while she was “at church.” In 2020, Donna decided it was time to move closer to family. She moved to Danbury to live with her niece and nephew-in-law, Rhonda and John. She was with them for three years until the end of June when she decided to move to K’s Place Personal Care Home. This is where she spent her final weeks.

Many thanks to all the people at K’s for the love and caring for Donna. This is just a brief synopsis of her life. A book could be written about everything that she did and accomplished in her life. She will be missed. Donna is preceded in death by her parents J. Devere Green Sr., and Doris Faye McClure Green, and her three brothers J. Devere (Jack) Green Jr., Thomas (Tommy) Green Sr., and Richard Green. Donna is survived by her two sisters-in-law, Mavalene Green of Panorama Village, Texas, and Cindy Green of Chicago; her nieces and nephews, Tim (Jana) Green, Kathey (Keith) Calfee, Tom, Jr (Tina) Green, Rhonda (John) Wendel, Eric Green, Lance (Sharla) Green, and Lori (Brian) DeLuca. Donna also has numerous great and greatgreat nieces and nephews. Donna chose to be cremated and to not have any services. She wanted people to have a meal and raise a glass to a well-lived life. If anyone wishes to donate to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, she would appreciate that.
