Juanita Lou Wittmer, of Georgetown, Texas, passed peacefully on July 19, 2023, at the age of 90. She was a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, born October 27, 1932, to Wilburn and Hazel Wilkey.

She will be laid to eternal rest in an intimate family ceremony at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas, on August 7, where she will join her dear husband, Jim. Viewing and visitation for friends and family is on August 6 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.

Those close to Juanita take great comfort in her deep and steadfast Christian faith and her certainty that she is now Wittmer reunited in Heaven with loved ones that passed before her.

Juanita’s faith and quiet strength shined brightly throughout her life as a wife, mother, homemaker and friend with her unwavering love, gentleness, kindness, patience, compassion and thankfulness.

In her “free” time, she loved to give back to her community and regularly volunteered at her and Jim’s church, library, hospital and Meals on Wheels local chapter.

Juanita was also an accomplished and self-taught artist. Her oil and watercolor paintings cover the walls of family homes and a few of her favorites have been recognized in local shows. In later years, she began dabbling in wood carvings.

Juanita is survived by her 3 daughters, Ellen Pruitt, Carol Nevill, Nancy Sanborn and their families, including 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Sympathy messages may be sent to the Wittmer family at [email protected].

In lieu of flowers, Juanita’s family will gratefully accept any donations to Meals on Wheels, where Juanita selflessly volunteered for many years.
