Joseph S. Quarterman

May 22, 1937 – February 27, 2022

 

Husband, father, brother and devoted friend, Joseph “Joe” S. Quarterman passed away February 27, 2022. He was born on May 22, 1937, In Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is preceded in death by his parents, George and Bernice Quarterman.

Joe graduated from Central High School in Tulsa in 1955 and received an MBA from the University of Tulsa. While attending Tulsa University, he played basketball under Coach Iba. Joe enjoyed playing many sports, including volleyball, baseball, tennis, basketball and his true passion, golf. As a member of Fair Oaks Ranch Golf and Country Club, he spent many days golfing and enjoying time with his friends.

Joe proudly served in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserve. He was an active member of St. Mark Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder and in the Stevens Ministry.

Joe served as an auditor for General Motors and as a manager for GMAC Financial Services, living many places along the way from San Diego to New York City and finally retiring in San Antonio.

Joe is survived by his wife, Sandie; son Scott and daughter-in-law Beth; two grandsons, Josh and Blake; sister Betty Gardner and her husband Bill; and five nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held March 29, 2022, at 1 p.m. at St Mark Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the animal rescue of your choice.
