The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team has advanced to the TAPPS 5A state tournament after winning in the regional finals last Saturday.
Geneva took on The Woodlands Christian Academy in Flatonia on Saturday and won by 14 points to punch their ticket to the TAPPS state tournament scheduled for this weekend in Waco.
Geneva won Saturday’s contest, 39-25, and improves to 28-2.
The Eagles enter the state tournament as the No. 1 ranked TAPPS 5A girls team in Texas.
Geneva will play Second Baptist at Robinson High School on Friday, 8:30 p.m.
The winner of that semifinals game faces the winner of the Southwest Christian School and Dallas Christian School that is being played Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday’s state championship game will take place at West High School at 2 p.m.
