The Boerne High baseball team picked up three shutout wins at the abbreviated Somerset tourney last week.
The Hounds won two games on Thursday and another Friday by a combined score of 26-0 and improve to 4-0 this season. Saturday’s games were called due to the weather.
BHS hosts St. Mary’s Hall on Tuesday.
On Thursday, the Hounds blanked Southside, 5-0.
Cole Phillips tripled in the 1st and scored 2 runs and that would be the only offense they would need since the Cardinals didn’t score a run.
The Hounds added a run in the 5th and two more in the 6th and finished with 7 hits.
Tyler Garritano went 5 innings and picked up the win, while giving up 2 hits, no walks and striking out 6. Cager Van Stavern tossed an inning and yielded a hit and struck out 2 with no walks.
Phillips had the 2-RBI triple, Rashawn Galloway doubled, walked and brought in a run, Cam Johnson singled, Kalob Sanchez singled and scored 2 runs, Garritano scored, Riley Pechacek hit 2 singles and scored, while Xander Cloudy collected 2 RBI and singled.
On Friday, the Hounds earned another shutout, this one against Devine, 10-0, behind 9 hits.
BHS had a fast start and scored 5 in the first, single runs in the 2nd and 3rd and closed it out with 3 in the 5th.
Xander Cloudy went all 5 frames and picked up the win on 71 pitches. He fanned 6, walked 1, gave up 4 hits and no runs.
Rashawn Galloway tripled and brought in 2 runs, Cam Johnson had a single and a double and scored 3 runs, Kalob Sanchez hit 2 singles and drove in 2 runs and Connor Shill scored twice.
Later on Friday, BHS closed it out with an 11-0 win over Poteet behind 9 hits. The Hounds scored 2, 4, 2 and 3 runs in the four innings played.
Cam Johnson singled and doubled, scored 3 times and picked up an RBI, Kalob Sanchez singled and scored 2 runs, Cale Blalock doubled and pushed in 2 runs, Rashawn Galloway hit a single and a double and collected 3 RBI, Cole Phillips drove in 2 runs, Riley Pechacek doubled and singled, had 2 RBI and scored once, while Max Garcia singled and Dylan Perez, Garcia, Davis Amerman, Connor Shill and Phillips all scored once.
Amerman picked up the win in four innings of work and only gave up one hit, no runs, one walk and fanned 4.
