Boerne High locked horns with the Battlin’ Billies to kick off the second round of district soccer last Friday. The Lady Greyhounds were on the road and the BHS boys were at home and both Boerne teams came up with victories.
The Boerne teams continue 26-4A soccer Tuesday against Wimberley.
Varsity Girls
Boerne blanked the Battlin’ Billies, 6-0, after tying Fred in the first round, 2-2.
The Lady Hounds are 4-1-2 in district and 11-3-4 overall. They are home Tuesday to host the Texans.
Kylie Combs and Madeline Davis led Boerne with 2 goals each, while A’Marie Ramirez and Avery Ukeiley knocked in one goal apiece.
Hannah Bowen finished with 2 assists, Ukeiley, Combs and Gigi Hernandez all had one assist each as 5 of the 6 goals were assisted.
Varsity Boys
The boys from Boerne opened the second round of district with a blowout win over the Battlin’ Billies, 6-0, Friday at BISD Stadium.
It’s Boerne fourth shutout in a row and helps them stay perfect in district at 7-0. They are 15-2-1 overall and visit Wimberley Tuesday.
Joe Ballenger, Landon Murphy, Sam Theiss and Jake Herman all scored goals for the Hounds, while Murphy, Theiss, Herman and Ballenger also picked up one assist apiece.
