The Chargers held its annual Champion Navy vs. White Spring Football Game last week. It was the first for Blane Ellis as the head coach.

Champion’s offense won the game 68-54 over the defense and Ellis said everybody did a great job.

“We were impressed with our energy and effort,” he said. “That is something we have worked on over the offseason and it was great to see us make improvements and headed in the right direction.”

Some of the Champion baseball players that play football sat out the game since the Chargers are still involved in the baseball playoffs so neither side was at full strength.

Because the Chargers held spring drills, they have to wait a week before they can start in August to prepare for the fall season.
