The Boerne High boys golf team and one member from the Charger golf team are competing at their respective state tournaments this week.
The Greyhounds teed off Monday at the Legends Golf Course and the Chargers are at the White Wing Golf Course. They completed the second round on Tuesday.
Boerne High is in 8th place as a team with a oneday score of 319, but one of its players, Price Hill, is in the mix for the individual title after he shot a 70 on the first day. Max Vergara of Levelland has the lead at 69, but Hill and two others are in at 70, while two more shot 72s.
Braden Baize (80), Jordan Smith (83), Cole Gentry (86) and Jaxon Baize (87) round out the Boerne team.
Chargers
Phoenix Guerra is representing the Chargers and is playing at the White Wing Golf Club on Monday.
Guerra shot a 76 on the first day and is 10 shots off the lead after Thomas Curry of Texarkana came in with a 66. Two other golfers broke 70 with a 68 and 69 to have the top three finish under par on the first day.
