CELEBRATING THE ARTS
Bring your family and friends (and lawn chairs), for a FREE Memorial Day Concert on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Boerne’s Main Plaza. (In case of rain, the concert will be held at the Boerne High School Auditorium.)
The Band will honor and remember our US Armed Forces with patriotic selections, including: God Bless America, Essay in Courage, Irving Berlin’s Songs for America, Missing Man, Armed Forces Salute, Midway March, and Hands Across the Sea.
The Boerne Concert Band is directed by Larry Schmidt t and made up of musical members from all over Texas Hill Country, and from all walks of life, including middle and high school, and college students, lifetime musicians, veterans and band directors. www.boerneconcertband.
com Museum of Western Art, a Hill Country treasure, presents 40 Years of Western Art, through July 8, 2023.
The exhibit features the artwork of 86 of the top artists from the past 40 years. Since the opening of the Museum as The Cowboy Artists of America Museum, thousands of artists have created artworks featuring the American West as the subject matter.
The artists in this exhibition are considered to represent the best-of-thebest of the genre. The exhibit features work by the artists who made an impact in this category of art during this 40-year period.
Half of the works on display are from the Museum’s Permanent Collection, while the other half is lent by the artists themselves, their collectors, or other museums.
