DEA agents who inspire series “Narcos” coming to Comfort

Comfort – May 18, 2023: Singing Water Vineyards, a winery located in the Texas Hill Country, announced along with Kendall Country Sheriff Al Auxier that they will be hosting an event supporting Drug Free Comfort on Friday night May 19th at 6:30 P.M.

Retired DEA Agents Javier Pena and Steve Murphy who were the inspiration of Netflix’s popular TV show, Narcos, will present Capturing Pablo. This entertaining event will tell the true story of the taking down of Pablo Escobar, the notorious Columbian drug lord in the late 1980’s and early 90’s.

The proceeds of the event will support a local Kendall Country non-profit, Drug Free Comfort, which is dedicated to the education of illegal drugs and awareness in our schools and communities.

“We are excited to host Javier and Steve who are true American heroes who fought on the frontlines in one of the most astonishing chapters of the Drug Wars. In the telling of a well-known national and world-wide event, I’m also happy that at the same time we’re also supporting a local non-profit, Drug Free Comfort who is on the frontlines in our community,” said Andy Ivankovich, co-owner of Singing Water Vineyards.

The event is open to the public and tickets may be purchased for $25 at singingwater.com by clicking on events or they may be purchased onsite. Singing Water Vineyards is located at 316 Mill Dam Road, Comfort, Texas 78013. The general show starts at 7PM and food and beverages will be available for purchase.
