The Geneva School of Boerne boys and girls golf teams competed at this year’s TAPPS 4A state tournament at Squaw Valley in Glen Rose and a member of the boys team, Jace Hulett, returned to Boerne as a state champion.
Hulett won the individual boys title with a two-day score of 135. The 15-year-old Geneva sophomore shot a 68 on the first day for a personal best and then returned the next day to break that record with a 67 to finish at 5-under par.
Also, by finishing in the top 10, Hulett was named All-State for this year.
Hulett helped the boys to a fifth-place showing after the Eagles shot rounds of 301 and 309 for a 610. The Covenant School – Dallas won state with a 578 (295,283).
Also for the Geneva boys, Jack Walker Harden tied for 13th with a 151 after rounds of 73 and 78, Noah Lee tied for 28th with a 161 after rounds of 80 and 81, Mark Bannwolf shot a 163 after carding rounds of 80 and 83, while Jacob Goodman shot a 205 with rounds of 104 and 101.
Geneva Girls
The Geneva girls placed 4th with a two-day score of 754 with rounds of 391 and 363. Ellie Ledoux and Suzie Nilsson tied for 11th after they both shot 184s. Ledoux carded a 99 and 85, while Nilsson scored a 93 and 91.
Ella Sorrells finished 14th with a 186 after shooting rounds of 97 and 89, Mattie Sue Arnold scored a 205 with rounds of 102 and 103 for 32nd and Grace Doan was 34th with a 207 after shooting 109 and 98.
