League of Women Voters: voter guides and voting deadline

Another option to be an informed voter is to explore VOTE411.org. This website is an online database for voters to read about the elections and candidates who answered three questions in their own words. The website VOTE411.org is sponsored by LWV Hill Country Texas. A voter enters the address on their voter registration card to access a list of elections on their ballot.

The May 2023 election in Kendall County has the following elections presented in the League Voter Guide: Boerne City Council District 2, Boerne Mayor, Fair Oaks Ranch City Council Place 2, and the Fredericksburg School Board for three positions with three-year terms. To check voter eligibility to vote in an election, refer to the right-hand side of the blue voter registration card.

Early Voting begins on Monday, April 24 and ends on Tuesday, May 2 with Election Day on Saturday, May 6th. If a voter wants to verify the details of their voter registration, use the website provided by the State of Texas: www. VoteTexas.gov.

The last day to request a ballot to vote by mail is Tuesday, April 25th. This deadline is described in the Texas Election Code with the actual date set by the Texas Secretary of State. The application is available at the Kendall County Election Department website and can be printed out, completed with the voter signature, and mailed to the Kendall County Election Department P. O. Box 2384 Boerne, TX 78006. The application to vote by mail must be RECEIVED at the election department on or before Tuesday, April 25th.
