1954 – April 20, 2023
Judith Ann Catalon passed away April 20, 2023, at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Her husband of 37 years, Ronald Catalon, was by her side holding her hand as she passed on. Judith fought cancer for two years and while in much pain and discomfort she remained faithful, in good spirits and continued to put others’ needs ahead of hers. Judith was 68 and lived in Boerne, Texas.
Judith was preceded by her parents, John and Kathryn O’Brien, as well as her brother, Ken O’Brien. Judith leaves behind her husband Ronald Catalon
Catalon of Boerne, Texas; her son, Shaun Viau of West Warwick, Rhode Island; and her granddaughter, Victoria Viau of West Warwick, Rhode Island. She also leaves behind her sister, Martha McCarthy of Tampa, Florida, and brother, Greg O’Brien of Mohegan Lake, New York.
Judith was born in Yonkers, New York, in 1954. She was married to Paul Viau from 1974 to 1985 and had a son Shaun in 1976. While living and working in Rhode Island, Judith married Ronald in 1986. Judith and Ronald lived and worked in New England while enjoying life and each other.
Upon retirement in 2012, Judith and Ronald moved to Boerne, Texas, for the milder weather and the friendliest people they had ever met.
Judith was a shining light that turned nearly every person she met into a friend. She worked to bring her neighborhood together in the park for special events so neighbors could meet one another. She loved her church, St. John Lutheran Church of Boerne, where she volunteered for everything from administrative functions and special events to new member classes. Judith loved to cook, loved animals especially her dog Jack and was happiest when helping others.
Judith was loved by many and left a void not easily filled.
A Visitation to celebrate Judith’s life will be held Monday, May 1st from 5 - 7 pm, at Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd, at St. John Lutheran Church, at 10:00 am.
