Geneva stringers compete at TAPPS state tournament

The Geneva School of Boerne varsity tennis teams competed in the TAPPS State Tennis Tournament April 17-18 in Waco.

The Geneva School of Boerne varsity tennis teams competed in the TAPPS State Tennis Tournament April 17-18 in Waco.

It was a strong showing by the Eagles after the girls finished 4th overall and the boys were 8th to end their seasons.

The top performing girls were freshmen Mary Simpson and Siena Svendsen in girls doubles, who made it to the semifinals. Also seniors Abby Bower and Ally Turgon made it to the quarterfinals, while freshman Baysia Bragg, advanced to the round of 16.

The top performing boys were freshman Nick Dube, who made it to the quarterfinals in boys singles, while junior Esan Fikes and freshmen Teagan Fikes made it to the round of 16 in boys doubles.

Also, seniors AJ Dube and Sophia Dacy advanced to the round of 16 in mixed doubles.
